*June 14, July 6, July 29, 2008 from 9-5:30 pm. Foodsafe Level I. For the prevention of food borne illnesses. An 8-hour course designed for food service workers on food borne illnesses in entry-level position. Great course for parents. Don't poison your self or your kids. Call 885-0804 to register.

* June, 21 & 22, 2008 from 9am - 5pm. 2 Day Standard First
Aid+CPR-C. Provides comprehensive first aid training for the general public, health care professionals and industry. Includes CPR (all levels) artificial respiration, choking, wounds and bleeding, shock, unconsciousness and fainting,
splinting fractures, burns, eye injuries, poisons and medical conditions. Call 885-0804 to register.

*June 22, 2008 from 1:30 pm-3:30 pm. Avoiding Pitfalls of
Custody Access, Child Support. FREE legal course covers
Enforcement Issues, What orders are, Can the court system
work for you. Call 885-4088 to register.

* June 23, 2008 from 5-7 pm. FREE Community Kitchen Course: Pasta Making. Fantastic opportunity to learn how to make pasta from scratch. Impress your friends and family with these secrets! Call 885-4088 to register.

* June 29, July 20, 2008 from 8:30 am-4:30 pm. Occupational First Aid Level I. Provides basic life saving first aid skills for workers in industry. Instruction focuses on the priority action approach, covering airway obstruction,breathing distress or absence, anaphylactic shock, CPR, deadly bleeding and minor wound care, management, burns, eye injuries. Call 885-4088 to register.

* July 5, 2008 from 9:00am-4:30pm. Spinal Immobilization Endorsement (Transportation Endorsement). WCB course designed to expand on level I practical skills of patient handling and teach patient securing procedures including hard collars and backboards.

* July 13, 2008 from 8:30 am - 5:30 pm. Emergency Child
Care (Child safe. Choking, artificial respirations, CPR-B,
shock, anaphylactic shock, diabetes, seizures, asthma, fainting, minor wounds, bleeding, fracture injuries, dental emergencies, poisoning, head and spinal injuries, burns, eye injuries, environmental injuries. Infant, child, adult.

* July 21, 2008 from 12-5 pm. Serving it Right. BC’s responsible beverage service program. It is designed to encourage a responsible, caring and professional approach to the service of alcohol.

* June 28, 2008 from 5-8 pm. Singles Dinner Club. Mexican
theme dinner. Choose a dish and bring recipe and
ingredients to cook and share with the others. Dinner Club

* Information and Referrals to other non-profit and
government services on the Sunshine Coast. In person,

*FREE Access Justice Pro Bono Legal Clinics Thursdays
12-1:30 pm by appointment. Call 885-4088 for more
information.

* FREE Community Volunteer Income Tax Program, by
appointment. We assist people who earn under $25,000
annually file their basic income tax returns for the 2007
taxation year. Our volunteers are trained by the Canada
Revenue Agency.

* Free Internet/computer Mon-Fri from 12-5 pm (drop-in).
One-to-One Training sessions by appointment. Call

* Free Form Filling Service. Receive one-to-one assistance
in completing forms including government forms. Book an
appointment at 604-885-4088.

* NEW Sunshine Coast Cancer Support Group. People
experiencing any type of cancer and / or their caregivers
are welcome to participate in this free drop-in peer
support group. Meet third Saturday of each month 1-3 pm,
next meeting June 21, 2008.

* NEW SC Seniors Housing Information Project. Provide information to seniors about housing options and government assistance. Call 885-4088 for more information or to book an appointment.

* NEW Money Management for Women Program. Free courses,
e-newsletter, lending library and free one-to-one money

*NEW Disability one-to-one with internationally renowned founder of PLAN, Jack Collins. Call 885-4088 to book an appointment.

* Our Book Club's May 23 discussion of The Curve of Time was the perfect way to celebrate spring! Eight book enthusiasts turned out to discuss the remarkable life of M. Wylie Blanchett.
