Since our incorporation as a society 18 years ago, the Sunshine Coast Community Resource Centre (also known as CRC) has been one of the Coast’s key service providers and our plan is to continue to carry on this tradition. We have formed a partnership with Sunshine Coast Community Services Society to assist in the delivery of our programs.
Our mission is to “inform, refer, educate, and empower our community, one person at a time.”
The Community Resource Centre is a hub of Coast wide information! Our services and programs are constantly growing and changing depending on the needs of the community. We can help connect you with the local service providers and government agencies who have the expertise to get the assistance you may need. Community Connections for Seniors
Community Connections for Seniors is a project of the Community Resource Centre, funded by the New Horizons for Seniors program of the federal government. This project is responding to our large and growing seniors population and to recent community consultations telling us that it is challenging for these seniors to get information about government, community and social services.
The purpose of this project is to better understand the information needs of seniors on the Sunshine Coast, and to begin to address those needs. This will be done through eight meetings in October held up and down the coast, each led by two local senior volunteers. Seniors will give us their concerns and ideas about how they get information and connect to the community. Information on programs and services will also be available at these meetings. Lunch will be provided at each gathering to give participants an opportunity to connect with their neighbours. Notes will be taken on the discussion and recommendations will be developed at the end of the project.
For all events the times are:
10:00 a.m. Doors open for tea and coffee
10:30 to 12:00 Conversation, Questions and Answers
